First of all, I’m blogging after a long time.. some personal problems as i mentioned earlier. This was originally a comment on Priscus blog, it was getting too long so.. I am blogging about Politics. a topics on which i never discussed in the past. This is mainly due to the “laK satte” incident. I am questioning Leaders of the country. What’s your job? I am nobody to come a tell you that. Why don’t you just do it? Ok so lets Start the post :

The election is over, one party became the government, the other party became the opposition. Their Job (from what i understand) : the government has to work for the betterment of the country and come up with ideas , and the opposition has to contest the flaws of any action taken by the government.. such that both are working for the betterment of the country.

But in Mauritius, Every action that the opposition takes is to disgrace the government (because they are political opponents) and same goes for the government. For them , the popularity of their respective party comes first, THOUGH THE PRIORITY SHOULD HAVE THE COUNTRY! They do not net a single opportunity to taunt their opponent. The assembly sessions has almost become a Comic show. As everybody knows, The leader of the opposition was guest on a very famous radio station following the incidents in the assembly. Again, he used all the time to justify his action, saying the the government it crap, he would make a better government and then, as THE LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION, what is he doing for the country now!? Walking out??

By stepping down, the opposition is leaving HIS job! for which he was elected for! And , the opposition is essential in a country where the prime minister is somewhat the most powerful person in the nation. Which makes me conclude that this is BETRAYAL towards his own country. (all that for some scandal HE himself initiated, and he wasn’t thrown out of the assembly, he left by himself.)

Many of you may think that i am supporting the GOV. but its not the case. I’m not into politics and I don’t have any preferences. I am just an observer. Though when the country is in the had of such jokers, i do feel the need to react.

My conclusion : Dear leaders, do your respective job in order to alleviate this country from its difficulties. Stop putting your parties popularity ahead and keeping in mind only the forthcoming elections. You are already getting big pay, forget your personal interests a bit. work for the country, work for the people.  Quit joking. And do not let your ego guide you.
